12 February 2014, at approx. 10:07 am, officers were dispatched to
the area of Mono Way, across from the Timer Hills Shopping Center,
regarding an injury accident.
When officers arrived, they observed that a 2001 Toyota pick-up
had left the north side of the roadway, and struck the rear of a City of
Sonora backhoe, that was parked along the north edge of the roadway
where City Public Works members were working. The backhoe sustained
moderate damage and the pick sustained major damage.
No City Public Works employees were injured. The driver, who was
identified as 28 year old Christopher Bradbury of Tuolumne, received
moderate injuries and was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center
by ambulance.
At the scene of the accident, Bradbury was exhibiting signs of
being under the influence. He was interviewed at the hospital and
determined to be under the influence of a controlled Narcotic. Because
of Bradbury’s medical condition he was cited and released for driving
under the influence of drugs and was not booked.
The westbound lane of Mono Way was closed for approximately one
hour, while officers conducted the investigation and the roadway could
be cleared.
