The
Mandelring Quartet is known to carefully prepare, rehearse, and control
their performances as if nothing is left to chance, yet they sound
spontaneous and animated. On Saturday
afternoon they will perform Mozart, String Quartet K.421, Mendelssohn,
String Quartet OP.80 and Beethoven, String Quartet OP. 132.
Bothers
Sebastian and Bernard Schmidt, join their sister Nanette Schmidt along
with viola master Roland Glassl to complete the string quartet.
Collectively they achieve a maximum of homogeneity and organic phrasing
without having to hide their own strong characters. Their numerous CD
recordings have been repeatedly awarded the German Music Critics’ Prize
and nominated for the International Classical Music Award confirming
their exceptional quality and wide-ranging repertoire. California
Artists Management of San Francisco is the exclusive representative of
this fine quarter.
The next performance is Sunday, March 9 with Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company. Lily Cai is based in San Francisco and performs all over the west coast. Tickets are on sale now by going on line to www.calaverasarts.org or by calling (209) 754-1774.
