(COPPEROPOLIS, Calif.) – Saddle Creek Resort – the Castle & Cooke golf community in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Calaveras County – is offering a July “2-for-1” golf stay-and-play package.

Guests will enjoy two nights in a luxurious, course-side bungalow (one-bedroom suite) and two rounds of golf per person. Saddle Creek’s Carter Morrish-designed course was recently named one of California’s 10 “Best Courses You Can Play” by Golfweek magazine. Also included is a choice of two breakfasts or lunches per person, a golf cart at your door every morning and unlimited use of the resort’s Sports Club and practice range.

Rates begin at $369 (Sunday through Thursday) and $489 (Friday and Saturday) and are based on double occupancy. The offer is available from July 8 to July 31 for groups of eight or less. Other arrangements can be made to accommodate larger parties.

“The ‘2-for-1’ special is a perfect excuse for couples or golf buddies to hop in the car and make the short, scenic drive to visit us in the Sierra foothills,” says Bob Higgins, General Manager. “Our golf course is heralded, the bungalows feature all the creature comforts of home and neighboring Copperopolis Town Square offers an eclectic mix of shopping and dining options for off-course excursions.”

Saddle Creek jumped six spots in Golfweek’s 2013 “Best You Can Play” rankings and now sits in the top 10 with iconic layouts like Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Pasatiempo and Torrey Pines’ South Course.

About Saddle Creek Resort

Situated in the rolling foothills of the Central Sierra region just two hours from the Bay Area and 1.5 hours from Sacramento, Saddle Creek Resort is located in the heart of the Copper Valley in Copperopolis. Golfers will discover stunning vistas of the towering Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east, while an ethereal collection of shimmering lakes, native trees, indigenous grasses and 100 bunkers provides a challenging, thought-provoking experience from tee to green. To create an atmosphere of tranquility and isolation, golf course architect Carter Morrish devised a routing in which no two holes run parallel to each other.

In proximity to Saddle Creek Resort is Copperopolis Town Square, a traditionally-designed, Gold Rush era-themed “country town” that is the retail and event hub of the Copper Valley in the Central Sierra region. Featuring charming boutiques, eateries and specialty shops, the pedestrian-friendly Town Square is the perfect place to spend some time after a round of golf.
