Bill Welles
picked up his sister’s folk guitar at the age of 6 and taught himself
to play many of the traditional folk melodies that were the staple of
the day. By the age of 10, he had added banjo, mandolin, bass and drums
to his compliment of instruments. On his tenth birthday he plugged in
his first electric guitar, and later that year joined his first gigging
band. Since those days, he has performed as a solo artist and in
numerous bands across the country and abroad in a variety of styles
ranging from folk, bluegrass, rock, blues, country and western, R&B,
Motown and jazz. Today Bill draws from all of these musical genres for
both his solo and band performances and adds to this mix his original
compositions, which speak of life’s experiences, acquaintances and
travels spinning landscapes all along the way.
Jonathan Alford
studied classical piano at the University of Wisconsin and privately
with Julian White and Dorothy Taubman. He has given recitals at Amherst
College, Mills College, Sonoma State University and with the Tassajara
Symphony. He wrote and performed music for the Ellen Webb Dance Company,
and for Howard Hain’s, A Play for One and All staged at ODC. He
was also Musical Director of the Childrens Opera of SF at Herbst
Theatre. This is just a small taste of his accomplishments.
Mike Phelan
began playing music as a young boy and has lived all over the US,
playing, recording and performing in many styles, including bluegrass,
rock, folk and blues in countless bands. Mike and Bill have been making
music together for some 30 years and have the innate ability to read
each other’s minds, which only comes from a long history of shared
experiences. Mike also records and tours with Marley’s Ghost and is a
deft and prolific songwriter.
Ray Price
also began developing his chops, on drums and percussion, at a very
tender age. He has been a longtime resident of Calaveras and Tuolumne
Counties and has performed in numerous bands throughout the Mother Lode.
Ray is equally at home playing rock, blues, latin, country or jazz and
provides a powerful back beat that can’t be denied.
Kris Osward is an extremely diverse bass player and enjoys playing everything from Bach to rock to funk. He has performed, toured, and recorded with many fine musicians including: The Drifters, The
Coasters,
The Shirelles, New Christy Minstrels, Crazy Ivan, Rhythm Coalition,
Wrigley Figlet, The Dan Bauer Band, Mirth and Glee Carolers, Clan Dyken,
as well as members of Sly and the Family Stone and Graham Central
Station.
Erin Ross

brings a strong sense of emotion to everything she sings. She has spent
