On 07/23/13 at approximately 8:15 AM, Nash Chevron, located at 686 S. Main Street, reported that they had found a credit card skimmer inside one of their gas pumps.
A
skimmer is an electronic device that can record credit card
information. The skimmer located at Nash Chevron was undetectable to
customers because it was connected inside the gas pump.
Employees
of Nash Chevron routinely check their pumps for skimming devices;
however it is unknown exactly how long the device was in the gas pump.
The device could have been in the pump for up to 5 days.
Other gas stations in the City have been notified to check their gas pumps for skimming devices.
