CFPD Press release re:SRA Fire Prevention Fee

Release Date: 8-13-12

The State Board of Equalization will start sending out the first round of State Responsibility Area (SRA) Fee bills this month.  This Fee was enacted over the strong objections from the Fire District’s Association of California (FDAC).  AB 29X was passed by the Legislature and signed by the Governor to impose a fee of $150.00 per habitable structure within the SRA.  If the habitable structure is within a recognized fire district, there is a reduction of $35.00, making the total $115.00.

The Copperopolis Fire Protection District (CFPD) does not receive any revenue from this SRA Fee nor has any control over this fee or how revenues are spent.  The revenues go directly to the State of California.
