Calaveras County Strike Teams deployed

With over 486, 000 acres of wildland fires burning in California's National Forests, Calaveras County Strike Teams have been deployed.

According to the CalFire TCU (Tuolumne Calaveras Unit) they have 2 strikes teams deployed to fight the National Forest fires as well as one strike team from Calaveras County Fire Districts.

A strike team consists of five engines, with each engine carrying a minimum of three firefighting personnel. Current Calaveras deployment totals 15 engines and 45 fire fighting personnel.

Engines and personnel from Central Fire, San Andreas Fire, Jenny Lind Fire, Foothill Fire and West Point Fire are currently battling the Chips fire in Plumas National Forest. The Chips fire has reached a total of 74, 000 acres burned with an 87% containment.
