A SYSTEM WILL BRING A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER THIS WEEK ACROSS THE INTERIOR OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE COAST RANGE THIS AFTERNOON AND THEN SPREAD INLAND LATER TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. THE MAJOR IMPACTS WILL BE COOLER TEMPERATURES, LIGHT PRECIPITATION WITH SLICK ROADS AND LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS. A FEW INCHES OF SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS, AND UP TO AN INCH OR SO OF SLUSHY ACCUMULATION WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG THE TRANS-SIERRA PASSES WEDNESDAY MORNING. STRONG GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE OVER HIGHER TERRAIN THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE DECREASING. SOME OF THE STRONGER WIND GUSTS OVER THE PEAKS WILL TOP OUT OVER 50 MPH. IN THE VALLEY BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED AS THE FRONT APPROACHES LATER TODAY. SOME OF THE STRONGER WIND GUSTS IN THE VALLEY MAY TOP OUT AROUND 30 MPH. RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ON THE LIGHT SIDE WITH ONLY A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH THROUGH MUCH OF THE VALLEY. THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS MAY SEE AROUND A HALF INCH WHILE MUCH OF THE NORTHERN SIERRA WILL BE AROUND A QUARTER INCH OR LESS.
