Calaveras Taxpayers Host Annual BBQ

BBQ
Tri-Tip and Chicken
Keynote Speaker is Jon Coupal, President,
Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.
Jon
will discuss how taxpayers can defend themselves from new threats to their
liberty and property.
He
is an attorney who successfully argued the term limits Proposition 140 before
the California Supreme Court and has been HJTA president since 1999. He
is the principal author of Proposition 218, the Right to Vote on Taxes Act,
which was approved by voters in 1996.
We
will have panel discussion with Lori Norton, County CAO; Rebecca Callen, Auditor/Controller
and Peter Maurer, County Planning Director. Bring your questions.
Rebecca
Callen is to receive the CCTA Award for Excellence in Public Service and
recognition from the State Senate and Assembly.
There will be an exciting
fund raising raffle.
Former
Supervisor
and CCWD Candidate, Russ Thomas will be providing vocal
entertainment including his rendition of “Danny Boy”. Please note CCTA
does not endorse candidates but does host candidate forums..
The
event will be held at Sugar Loaf Mine on a mountain top setting. The driveway,
which will have a sign and balloons, is at 5833 Parrots Ferry Road, about 1.3
miles South of Moaning Cave Road.
Seating is limited. Donation
is $25 in Advance, or $30 at the door.
