Boyett Ball Drop for 'Make Dreams Real' endowment fund at Saddle Creek

On May 16, 2012 the Make Dreams Real endowment fund held a multi- course golf tournament including La Contenta, Greenhorn Creek and Saddle Creek to raise funds for their endowment fund.

The mission of the foundation is to create a million dollar endowment fund that will 'fill the needs of children in the local community of Modesto and Stanislaus County and enable them to explore and extend their education.  We are committed to these communities and are using this opportunity to change the school drop-out rate, elevate the education level, and over time, improve the quality of life.'

As the finale to the tournament a golf ball drop from a Boyett Petroleum helicopter was to occur yet the helicopter was not in service that day. Carl Boyett, committed to making this happen, was able to round up a helicopter and hold the golf ball drop on June 6, 2012. 289 numbered golf balls- golf ball numbers purchased separately from the tournament - were dropped from a hovering helicopter on the 9th green. The numbered balls were then measured for distance from the flag. The closest 9 balls from the pin won.
