Gov Brown appointments - 39th ag district

Gay Callan, 62, of San Andreas, has been appointed to the 39th District Agricultural Association, Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, where she has served since 1991. Callan has been owner of Chatom Vineyards and Winery since 1978. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Callan is a Republican.



Katherine Campbell, 51, of San Andreas, has been appointed to the 39th District Agricultural Association, Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, where she has served since 2003. Campbell has been a teacher at the Calaveras Unified School District since 1996. She was a realtor at Howard Little Real Estate from 1989 to 1995. Campbell was Mother Lode bureau chief at The Stockton Record from 1983 to 1989. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Campbell is a Democrat.

Evan Garamendi, 67, of San Andreas, has been appointed to the 39th District Agricultural Association, Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. Garamendi was a teacher at the Calaveras Unified School District from 1969 to 2003. She has served on the Calaveras Unified School District Board of Trustees since 2006. She is a member of the Calaveras County Arts Council Board of Directors and Mokelumne Hill Lion’s Club. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Garamendi is a Republican.

Gloria Grimes, 66, of West Point, has been appointed to the 39th District Agricultural Association, Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. Grimes has been tribal chair of the Calaveras Band of Mi-Wuk Indians since 1990. She was a community health representative for the Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne Health Board Inc. from 1980 to 2007. Grimes is a member of the West Point Mi-Wuk Roundhouse, Mi-Wuk Dance Group and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3322. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Grimes is a Democrat.
