Starting today, the CHP and more than 200 state police agencies will launch a month-long crackdown on distracted drivers. They'll be increasing patrols looking for drivers who ignore the ban on hand held phone calls and text messaging.More than 350,000 California drivers have been ticketed since the phone ban took effect in July 2008. Nearly 6,000 more have been cited for the texting ban that took effect six months later.
