Bobby Rapp Memorial Poker Run Rumbles Through Copper 4-16-11

One of the stops in the Sgt. Bobby Rapp Memorial Poker Run sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 391 MC Riders Group, was Micki and Larry's Sports Pub. Speaking with a retired correctional officer and a retired firefighter, they both thought that there was approximately 400+ riders in this years ride. Both riders were veterans and traveled some distance to participate in this event, "Our whole group is from the Jackson to Placerville area." While each had a map, they agreed to choose one rider to head up the group.

All the proceeds from this event will go to five high school seniors as scholarships in Sgt. Bobby Rapp's honor.

"3rd Annual Sgt. Bobby Rapp Memorial Scholarship Poker Run will be held to honor a local Hero killed in Afganistan. Sgt. Rapp was an active member of his community and a great scholar athlete. The Motorcycle Riders Group of the Sonora Chapter 391 of The Vietnam Veterans of America are honoring him with 5 Scholarships to the High Schools in the Sonora Area for the 3rd consecutive year."
