Columbia College’s photography students will host a reception for the exhibition of their black and white fine art photography on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 3:30-5:30 pm at Sonora Joe’s.
All photographs were developed by traditional methods and were taken by advanced and intermediate photography students currently enrolled in Columbia College. Students include residents of Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties to study the art and tradition of photography.
“I am continually amazed by my students,” states Allison Fairfield, instructor and professional photographer. “Their art is unparalleled and continues to exceed my expectations. Each student has discovered their style and this comes across in the collection of works that will be exhibited at their show.”
The photography program emphasizes the refinement of 35mm and medium format camera work, composition and visual concepts, along with the exposure and development of the negative, and printing in black and white.
The photography show, located in Sonora Joe’s at 140 S. Washington St. in Sonora, runs from April 22 through May 1, 2011. All photographs are for sale. To learn more, visit us on www.facebook.com/groups/columbiacollegefineartphotoshow2011.
