Sheriff Dept Press release re:Advisory: Victim shot while walking on Hwy 12 near Burson Rd sometime before 1245, suspect vehicle is a black Ford pickup.

On 10/15/14, at about 1245 hours, deputies were dispatched to a doctor’s office in the Valley Oaks Center for 21 year old male with a single gunshot wound. The victim was reportedly walking on the shoulder of highway 12 near Burson Road when he said he was shot. The victim telephoned his friends who transported him to the doctor’s office. The victim was treated and flown to a valley hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The victim believes the gun shot came from a black Ford pickup, no further information. The suspect’s vehicle direction of travel is unknown. The Sheriff’s Department does not have an update on the victim’s medical status. Up to this point some of the information the sheriff’s office has received is not consistent with what has been reported by victim and witnesses. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
