Copperopolis Town Square to Host Annual ‘Dog Day Afternoon’ Celebration

– Copperopolis Town Square – the events, shopping and entertainment
gathering place in Calaveras County – will host “Dog Day Afternoon”
Saturday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.Highlights include live music, a costume parade at 2 pm and a huge raffle including a $100 cash prize (donated by Copper Valley Realty). Chloe & Zoey’s Pet Boutique is donating most of the raffle prizes and tickets are available now in the store. Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society and participants do not need to be present to win.
“We’re excited to once again host Dog Day Afternoon at Copperopolis Town Square,” says Linda Stefanick, Vice President and Event Director for Castle & Cooke Calaveras, Inc. “Even if you don’t have a dog, please come on down to enjoy the show and pick up your Valentines from one of the unique shops. Some are offering specials for the holiday.”
Admission is free and the entry fee for each participating dog in the parade is $5. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times.
Parade awards will be provided to “Top Dog” (large, medium, small and tiny categories), “Best Valentine Costume” (male and female), “Best Owner & Dog Costume,” “Ugliest Mug & Sweetest Face” and “Sweetest Valentine” (male and female categories). All awards do not require costumes.
Copperopolis Town Square is situated in the rolling foothills of the Central Sierra on Highway 4 in Calaveras County, two hours from the Bay Area and 1.5 hours from Sacramento.
