Kyle Nordvik enlists in Army National Guard

Another one of our local young men has enlisted in the Army National Guard.

Kyle Nordvik, CFPD Volunteer, is set to leave to boot camp on February 25, 2013 to begin his 6 year enlistment.

Currently Kyle is working for Nordvik Designs building custom homes and completing remodels. He has previously worked as a firefighter intern and is active as a volunteer with Copperopolis Fire Protection District. Kyle is also a certified EMT (Emergency Medical Technician).

Son to Kurt and Lydia Nordvik, Kyle says they are very supportive of his choice. Both Kyle's grandfathers had served in the military. Kyle will be leaving behind his girlfriend Danielle Love who Kyle says is very supportive but doesn't want him to leave. Younger brother Kreg is very proud of his brothers service.

Kyle chose the Army National Guard to further his career, serve his country and take advantage of the multiple offers the military has made available; loans, education, medical, etc.

At 26 Kyle may be one of the oldest recruits entering boot camp but this does not seem to be a detriment in his eyes. He is excited and nervous to be making this great leap. His only fear is "getting shot at."

Kyle has chosen the MOS of 68W -  health care specialist/ combat medic.
