The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association is concerned with proposed government expansion of land use regulation on properties having access to Lake Tulloch.
According to neighbors, there have been several instances of problems
regarding noise and parking, many of which have been caused by tenants
in vacation rentals. Some vocal residents want a ban on all vacation
rentals.
This
new county law is being enacted without notifying the property owners
affected and it is scheduled for a vote on March 12, 2013.
Under
the proposed law if you want to rent your home for a period of less
than 30 days, you would be required to obtain an annual permit at a cost
in excess of $2,000. Full wording of the 2-12-13 proposed law is

This is being updated. After reading the law you may want to do the
email poll to the Supervisors indicating your support or opposition to
this law and your opinion of adding a 3 year Sunset Clause. The Sunset Clause would require the new law to be reviewed in three years.
