In-library book sales are held at the 8 library locations in Calaveras County. The Central Library Book Sale Room is staffed by volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition, the Friends of the Calaveras County Library are participating members in Librarybooksales.org
The California State Library created Librarybooksales.org to enable under-funded geographically remote libraries to raise much needed monies by providing a convenient point of sale. The project evolved as an offshoot of the California Rural Library Initiative and was supported in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act. By purchasing books directly from a library using this site you can be assured that the funds will promote literacy, purchase needed supplies, equipment and books.
