Linda Kemper - designer of the 27th Annual Comminuty Center Wine Glass Art
Linda Kemper's artists rendition of the old Telephone Building adorned each complimentary wine glass held by wine tasters who attended the 27th annual Copperopolis Community Center Wine Tasting event held January 12, 2013 at the Copperopolis Armory.
Linda has been interested in most all forms of art since childhood, dabbling in sketching, watercolor, oils, stained glass, woodworking and acrylics, finally finding her true love of all things textile. Linda first picked up sewing at the young age of nine and has been sewing and quilting since while keeping her other art avenues open for new experiences and dabbling "anything to keep me out of housework." In fact, as a member of the Lake Tulloch Quilters Guild, she helped create the quilt depicting the history of Copperopolis that adorns a wall in the historic Armory.

Copper Elementary 4th graders take a romp through Copper History
Thanks to the commitment of the Copperopolis Community Center, the history of Copperopolis comes to life each year for the second and fourth grade classes at Copperopolis Elementary.
Coordinating the event with the students classroom curriculum the CCC brings history alive by walking the children through the historic parts of town telling tales and lore of days gone by as well as facts and statistics of this great town.
After a few cancellations due to the weather, finally and with much anticipation, on October 29, 2012, 32 children from the fourth grade classrooms taught by Mrs. Bauer (substitute the day of the walk by Mrs. Mercado) had the joy of participating in this historic excursion including lessons on the cannon and the bell, Madam Felix, the mines, the cemetery and the museum. Finishing at the old red brick church for some songs and cookies.
Thank you Ileana Grycel for providing the great photos of this event.

Copperopolis Community Center 'Wines' Copper
At their 26th annual wine tasting the Copperopolis Communty Center (CCC) showed they knew how to not only wine Copperopolis but dine them too!
With a wonderful selection of wineries and vintners on hand the complimenting array of appetizers surely impressed even the finickiest guests.
Highlighting vintners and wineries from the foothills showed the impressive creativity and variety of wines available in our own 'backyard.'
