COPPEROPOLIS’ 28th ANNUAL “FIRST TASTING OF THE YEAR” FOR CALAVERAS COUNTY WINERIES

         

Wineries:    Calaveras County (California’s original wine country) is fortunate to home a bounty of wonderful wineries. Over a dozen Calaveras County Wineries have been invited to the 28th Annual “First Tasting of the Year” in Copperopolis, A FOOTHILL TRADITION FOR 28 YEARS.

  

Wine tasting at its finest!

On Saturday November 9, 2013 Copperopolis Town Square hosted their annual Taste of  Holidays  wine tasting event featuring Calaveras Wines and treats from Calaveras restaurants and catering companies.
The participating wineries were:

 Mineral Wines, Irish Vineyards, Frog’s Tooth, Gianelli Vineyards, Milliaire, Black Sheep, Coppermine, Renegade, Ironstone, La Folia, Newsome Harlow, Renner, Indigeny Reserve.

Grand Opening for Copper Cellars a sweet treat

Copper Cellars, a wine tasting and boutique shop located in Town Square held their Grand Opening on Thursday July 12, 2012 for a packed house. Featured winery pouring samples for the evening was Wilderotter Vineyards located in Plymouth, sharing samples of their award winning wines from Estate Voigner to a beautiful Grenache and something in between for everyone with discernable tastes. The piece d'la resistance was the plethora of sweet treats provided by Simply Delish out of Sonora. A table generously covered with mouthwatering delectable creations that had you coming back for more...again and again. From chocolate dipped succulent strawberries to mini cheesecakes and cream filled splendor in a cupcake wrapper.

Copper Cellar owners Doug and Rebecca Halborson also own Sierra Cellars in nearby Twain Harte. Both locations offer boutique vineyard wines, tastings and special gifts. 785-9292

Newsome-Harlow at Snaps tonight!!! 3-23-12

Snap's Coffee House and Wine Bar will feature Newsome-Harlow Wines and owner Scott Klann for its next "Friday Night Flights" on Friday March 23.  Scott will begin pouring at 5:00pm and go until 8:00pm.  Danny Burton will provide music and there will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres.  A flight of five tastings will be $8.00 and a glass of your favorite will be $8.00.  Scott will be bringing some new offerings for your pleasure.  Looking forward to seeing you.

Snaps hosts Newsome-Harlow for Friday Night Flights

Snap's Coffee House and Wine Bar will feature Newsome-Harlow Wines and owner Scott Klann for its next "Friday Night Flights" on Friday March 23.  Scott will begin pouring at 5:00pm and go until 8:00pm.  Danny Burton will provide music and there will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres.  A flight of five tastings will be $8.00 and a glass of your favorite will be $8.00.  Scott will be bringing some new offerings for your pleasure.  Looking forward to seeing you.

Snaps features winemaker Chuck Hovey for wine tasting tonight 2-17-12

Gianelli Vineyards and their winemaker Chuck Hovey will be at Snap's on Friday, February 17.  Vintages with romantic names  like Vermentino, Fiano, Aglianico, Montepulciano and Nino will be offered for tastings.  This will be the first time we have had the opportunity to taste the Italian varietals offered by this winery. It is a beautiful extension of Valentine's Day.  

The event will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Danny Burton will be there playing his acoustic guitar and there will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres.  A flight of five tastings will be offered at $8.00 and a glass of your favorite will be $8.00.  The weather seems to be holding up, so come enjoy the fireside, the music, the wine and the shops of Town Square.

On Friday, February 17, 2012 Snaps will feature winemaker Chuck Hovey and the wines of Gianelli Vineyards.  This will be the first time we have had the opportunity to taste the Italian varietals offered by this winery.

At their 26th annual wine tasting the Copperopolis Communty Center (CCC) showed they knew how to not only wine Copperopolis but dine them too!
With a wonderful selection of wineries and vintners on hand the complimenting array of appetizers surely impressed even the finickiest guests.
Highlighting vintners and wineries from the foothills showed the impressive creativity and variety of wines available in our own 'backyard.'

Twisted Oak Winery at Snaps TONIGHT!!!! 1-13-12

The Twisted Oak winemaker, Brett, will be pouring his favorite vintages on Friday, January 13 at Snap's Coffee House and Wine Bar.  The evening will begin at 5:00pm and go until 8:00pm and we will offer a flight of five tastings for $8.00 and a glass of your favorite will be $8.00.  there will be music and complimentary munchies.  The weather continues to be dry and beautiful.  Come out and enjoy it while it lasts.

Hovey Winery at Snaps a festive affair

Chuck Hovey, winemaker for Hovey Wines, showed off his award-winning vintages for the first time at Snap's on Friday, December 16, 2011 to a very appreciative crowd.  Danny Burton performed Christmas songs and more, beautifully on his acoustic guitar. 

Chuck was winemaker for Stevenot for many years and has created worldwide award-winning vintages after just two years of having his own label.  What a great way to celebrate the Christmas Season!

Snaps hosting Hovey Wines TONIGHT!!! 12-16-11

Snap's is delighted to introduce Chuck Hovey and Hovey Wines at Snap's Coffee House and Wine Bar on Friday, December 16.  Chuck will be pouring his award-winning wines from 5:00pm  to 8:00pm.  Flights of 5 tastings will be $8.00 and a glass of your favorite will be $8.00.  Danny Burton will be there providing live music  and there will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres.  Chuck was the wine maker at Stevenot for 20 years and introduced his wines two years ago.  He has already won awards in world-wide competition for his Tempranillo.  I'm excited to try his wines.  It's a great way to kick off the Christmas Season.

Friday Night Flights at Snaps featuring Newsome- Harlow Winery

Snap's Coffee House and Wine Bar will be featuring winemaker Scott Klann and Newsome-Harlow wines this Friday evening, August 26, 2011, for their 'Friday Night Flights' event.  The evening begins at 5:00pm and winds down at 8:00pm.
A flight of five tastings will be $7.00 and a glass of your favorite will be $7.00. 
Complimentary snacks will be served and acousitc guitar music by Danny Burton will round out the evening.
