Umpqua Bank , Learn to Earn- teaching saving principles early

Umpqua Bank believes in investing its time and energy into the community through many community service orgaizations to benefit the community within which they operate their branches.

Copperopolis Branch pushes that thought process just a little further, jumping in with their boots on when seemingly any organization asks for support or help. Throughout the years they have helped with the food pantry, collecting school supplies for the school and to hand out to children in need, held open house Parks and Rec info / customer appreciation days, displayed quilts for veterans, schools, fire departments, and so much more.

As the new school year starts, Umpqua Bank employees will be volunteering their time before their work day begins to teach the children of Copperopolis Elementary the fundamentals and benefits of saving. This will be the third year Umpqua Bank has offered and run this program for the children at the elementary school.

The program is called 'Learn to Earn' and is set up in simplified terms for children. Of course a parent must fill out some paperwork to begin the process, but the child will be responsible from then on out to remember his/her saving passbook and deposit on the day the employees set up their Copperopolis Elementary Branch Bank.

A child can open a new 'free' interest earning account with as little as $1.00. Each child will receive their own savings passbook along with two gifts of a quarter card and a little money bag. But the best gift the child receives is the financial guidance and knowledge that the volunteers from Umpqua Bank bestow upon them.

Sign up packets are available at the Copperopolis Branch Umpqua Bank store.
