22 Aug. 2011, at approx. 9:03 pm, an officer stopped a vehicle on the 300 block of S. Washington St. for having a brake light out. The officer contacted the driver and passenger. The passenger was identified as Luke Seagraves, 22 of Sonora. Seagraves was showing signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Seagraves also had a large fixed blade knife concealed inside the vehicle, near his feet. At this point Seagraves was detained.
During a search of Seagraves backpack, approx. 2 grams of methamphetamine was located. Also located inside Seagraves backpack was over 100 keys, burglary tools, drug paraphernalia, a butterfly knife, and a jewelry box with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation memorabilia and jewelry. Also located in the vehicle was a briefcase, which contained a large amount of jewelry.
Seagraves was taken into custody. He was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for;
Felony possession of a controlled substance
Felony transporting a controlled substance
Felony possession of a concealed weapon
Misdemeanor possession of burglary tools
Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
Misdemeanor being under the influence of a controlled substance
The investigation is continuing in an attempt to identify the owner of the jewelry and memorabilia.
