Message from Public Health Dept re: school immunzations

ATTENTION PARENTS AND GUARDIANS A MESSAGE FROM THE CALAVERAS COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND MTUESD
A NEW STATE LAW REQUIRES BOOSTER PROTECTION AGAINST PERTUSSIS (WHOOPING COUGH) FOR STUDENTS ENTERING 7TH-12TH GRADE FOR THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR.
STUDENTS WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL UNTIL AN IMMUNIZATION RECORD IS PRESENTED WITH PROOF OF THE PERTUSSIS BOOSTER {Tdap or pertussis containing vaccine}.
PERTUSSIS VACCINE ($16.00)IS AVAILABLE AT THE CALAVERAS COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH CLINICS. NO ONE IS DENIED DUE TO INABILITY TO PAY.

Update:
The Governor of California has approved Senate Bill 614 extending the vacanation  deadline to give educational agencies 30 extra days after classes start to begin verifying the vaccinations.
