Free School Supplies - Saturday August 13, 2011

16 year-old Solisha Andico and her little sister 11 year-old Shileen knew they wanted to help the community but weren't sure just how. One day they hatched an idea ... to collect donated school supplies for the children of Copperopolis.

Over the last month they approached businesses for donations or asked if they would be willing to be a donation drop-off point.

August 9, 2011  the girls went to all the participating businesses and picked up their boxes. "I was so surprised!" said Solisha when she picked up the overflowing box at Umpqua Bank.

The girls have organized a distribution day of August 13, from 11-1 infront of the Copperopolis Branch library. It will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

There will be backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, glue, crayons, chalk, etc.
All free for those who need school supplies.
