they were contacted by a witness. The fire had already been
extinguished, but the odor of gasoline was still in the air.
While talking with the first witness, the officers were contacted
by a second witness who reported a second fire at another part of the
complex. This witness observed a female running from the fire as it
started. The witness was able to provide a detailed description of the
female and the direction she was last seen running.

down Fairview Lane. The officer gave chase and stopped the female on
Stockton Road near Ponderosa Way, where she was detained. The female was
identified as Tallena Hogland, who is a 33 year old transient. Hogland
is on probation in Tuolumne County and had a no bail warrant for her
arrest out of Manteca Superior Court for assault. Hogland was later
identified by two separate witnesses as leaving the area as the fires
started.
The Sonora Police Department’s Fire Investigation Unit responded to
the scene. They located where three separate fires had been. It was
also determine that all three fires were the result of arson. One of the
fires charred the exterior of one of the inhabited apartment buildings
and another burnt a mattress.
Hogland was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for;
three counts of felony arson; one count of felony arson of an inhabited
structure; three counts of attempted arson; one count of burglary; and
the outstanding warrant.
