Copper community helps fill the boot for the food pantry

Copper firefighters (paid staff and volunteers), members of the food pantry and representatives of the VFW Post 12118, with the help of our very generous community, pulled off another amazing fill the boot event this past weekend.

The proceeds from these bi-yearly fill the boots raise approximately 60% of the food pantry's yearly budget. With the pantry seeing a consistent climb in the numbers of families served the funds are not only a wonderful gift from the community but a necessity to continue the pantry's outreach to the more than 50 families they are currently serving.

Copperopolis Volunteer Firefighter Association president Don Rollings is constantly in wonder at the generosity of the community. "Each year the community is so giving, and each year as we are closing up people continue to come to us handing us money for the food pantry."
