A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE THROUGH NORTHERN CALIFORNIA LATE
TONIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY...BRINGING LIGHT VALLEY RAIN AND MOUNTAIN
SNOW TO THE REGION.
 
 
A PACIFIC STORM WILL MOVE ACROSS INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA OVER
THE WEEKEND BRINGING SOME RAIN TO THE CENTRAL VALLEY WITH SNOW IN
THE MOUNTAINS. PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP OVER THE
COASTAL MOUNTAINS BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON THEN SPREAD OVER THE ENTIRE
AREA SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY. LIGHT PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED
WITH RAINFALL AMOUNTS GENERALLY AROUND A QUARTER OF AN INCH OR
LESS.

SNOW LEVELS ARE FORECAST TO INITIALLY BE AROUND 3000 TO 4000 FEET
OVER THE SHASTA MOUNTAINS LATE SATURDAY...THEN LOWER TO AROUND 2500
FEET...LOCALLY LOWER...SUNDAY MORNING. OVER THE COASTAL MOUNTAINS
AND SIERRA NEVADA...SNOW LEVELS WILL LOWER SATURDAY NIGHT INTO
SUNDAY TO AROUND 3000 TO 4000 FEET. SNOW AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO
GENERALLY BE LIGHT BUT UP TO 3 INCHES IS POSSIBLE OVER THE HIGHER
TERRAIN. GUSTY SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WIND IS LIKELY OVER THE HIGHER
MOUNTAIN TERRAIN SATURDAY AFTERNOON INTO EARLY SUNDAY.

PERSONS TRAVELING INTO THE MOUNTAINS THIS WEEKEND MAY ENCOUNTER
TRAVEL DELAYS AND CHAIN REQUIREMENTS...ESPECIALLY SATURDAY NIGHT
INTO SUNDAY. CHECK THE LATEST ROAD AND WEATHER CONDITIONS PRIOR TO
DEPARTURE. DRIER WEATHER IS FORECAST FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK.
