...UNSETTLED WEATHER POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND... AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS OF FAIR WEATHER ACROSS INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA...A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS THE REGION SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. THIS IS A RELATIVELY WEAK SYSTEM WHEN COMPARED TO THE LAST SEVERAL STORM SYSTEMS THAT IMPACTED THE AREA. HOWEVER...IT IS STILL LIKELY TO BRING LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN ACROSS THE VALLEY AND ACCUMULATING SNOW TO THE MOUNTAINS. ALL TOLD...UP TO HALF AN INCH OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE CENTRAL VALLEY SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY. ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS...UP TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION WILL BE POSSIBLE. SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 3000 TO 4000 FOOT RANGE...THOUGH MAY BE LOCALLY LOWER OVER SHASTA COUNTY. PERSONS TRAVELING INTO THE MOUNTAINS THIS WEEKEND MAY ENCOUNTER TRAVEL DELAYS AND CHAIN REQUIREMENTS...ESPECIALLY SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY. CHECK THE LATEST ROAD AND WEATHER CONDITIONS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE.
