CHP SAN ANDREAS UPDATE
San Andreas,
CA – The California Highway
Patrol confirmed Thomas C. Land, 22 of Valley Springs, succumbed to his
injuries sustained as the driver in a traffic collision on June 5, 2012. The collision occurred on Hogan Dam Road just west of Hogan Dam Parkway. Our office received confirmation this morning
of Mr. Landi’s death from Memorial
Medical Center
in Modesto, CA.
The San Andreas CHP office is disturbed to report that this
is the third fatality this year in which the driving was suspected of driving under
the influence of alcohol or drugs.
For 2011, the San Andreas CHP handled nine (9) fatality
collisions. Two (2) of these collisions
were DUI related.
As a result, the San Andreas Area will continue aggressive
enforcement and educational efforts to save lives and keep roads in Calaveras
and Alpine counties safe for everyone.
