Effective July 1, 2012 the clerical duties at the CFPD will be handled by the clerical staff from MFPD. According to MFPD Chief Steve Kovacs, MFPD secretary Susan Machin has been with MFPD for 5 years and has an additional 35 years in the private sector.
When asked if this was a fiscally sound plan the response from the CFPD Board was that the possibility of hiring outside had been discussed yet the benefits of contracting with MFPD was a more "fiscally sound" approach, said Chairman Maness. MFPD already has trained office personnel in place, thereby cutting down on training time as well as potential office mistakes that may accompany newly trained personnel, along with the contracted employee's benefit expense will be carried by MFPD.
