Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. will join Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to welcome His Excellency Xi Jinping, Vice President of the People's Republic of China, to Los Angeles on Thursday.
Arrival: Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.
Departure: Friday, February 17, 2012 at 10:00 p.m.

Vice President Xi is set to replace the staid Hu Jintao as Communist Party leader late this year, then succeed him as president in 2013.
Much of Xi’s visit will be in the company of Vice President Joe Biden, who went to China as Xi’s guest in August.
Though the visit will cover issues affecting the US and China it is viewed more as a diplomatic visit to strengthen ties.
