To all the family and friends of the Veterans and Members of the James D. Piper VFW Post 12118, and to the Copperopolis Community, we thank you for attending the Instituting and Swearing in Ceremony on Sunday, February 19, 2012. This was an historic event for the entire community. After much hard work from the Veterans and support from the Copperopolis Community, and the unending support and drive by Charity Maness, Copperopolis is the home of the Veterans of Foriegn Wars of the United States newest Post.

Post 12118 would like to thank Payless IGA Market for their continued support and generosity, we appreciate all they have done for us and the community.
To the Copperopolis Community Center we thank you for allowing us to use the Historic Copperopolis Armory for our ceremony. What better place to hold our ceremony than the Copperopolis Armory, steeped in local history, adding another chapter to it.
We also want to thank Bill Skellenger and Roberto Barajas for displaying their WWll Jeeps. (Bill is the Post Senior Vice Commander and Roberto and his wife Carmen will be members of our soon to be Mens and Womens Auxilarys).
Calaveras County Sheriff Gary Kuntz, Supervisor Tom Tryon, Mike Miller Calaveras County Planning Commisioner, Tony Tyrrell from the Angels Camp Veterans Memorial District and all our Comrades from the local VFW Posts, the State and District VFW Officials, and Heidi from Assemblymember Kristen Olsen's office, We thank you for attending the ceremony.
To Lynn Ernst and all the wives and loved ones, thank you for all the great food. You did such a great job, I don't think anyone went away hungry, what a marvelous job you all did.
Last but certainly not least. To Micki Phillips and the family of James D. Piper. Thank you all for attending. Your presence was greatly appreciated. The Members of the James D Piper VFW Post 12118 will do their best to honor him in all their activities and never forget the supreme sacrifice he made for this country.
