The Copper Gazette welcomes new advertiser Peter Uyeyama DDS

Peter Uyeyama DDS began his dental career in the Army during the Vietnam Era. Trained as a medic, Peter fully expected to serve his country in Vietnam so he was quite surprised when he found himself assigned to dental hygienist training. “So while most of the medics went to Nam I was stationed in Ft. Dix New Jersey seeing troops who were on their way to Nam and their dependents.” This began his dental career.
By 1983 Peter had opened an office in Modesto and expanded with a second office in Copper in 1996. Since then his children have gone into the dental field and he now works solely in Copper while his son mans the Modesto practice.

While office hours vary the staff of two assistants, 2 hygienists and himself, are more than able to cater to the community’s needs, providing all aspects of general dentistry; fillings, crowns, bridges, veneers,  cosmetics, dentures, extractions, root canal therapy and more.
Peter does not limit himself to his paid practice. He has volunteered for many years in the Modesto school district dental screening program for third graders, he manned the mobile dental clinic at the Veteran Stand-Down in Tuolomne County 2011 and recently returned from a trip to Tanzania, Africa where he worked with a team of volunteers who extracted over 500 teeth in a remote mountain village. “Lord willing, will be going to Africa again next year again.”
