Gary Whittley phoned today from home. He is resting and on the mend suffering from 6 broken ribs and a 10% lung puncture.
Gary was in a motorcycle accident on Friday afternoon as he was heading home to Copper from Sonora and subsequently medi flighted out due to the extensive injuries. He was passing gate #2 at Poker Flat when a truck pulled out of the gated community. Gary felt he could either hit the truck or the bank, he choose the bank. "I like dirt better than I like metal" he said in typical Gary humor, while trying to stiffle a laugh, as laughing is almost out of the question when healing from multiple broken ribs.
Gary is thankful for the phone calls and the concern he has felt from the community.
