Copper Hills 4-H Show their Community Support

Copper Hills 4-H Support Copper Library
On Tuesday March 22, 2011 representatives from the Copper Hills 4-H presented Valerie Dean, library tech at the Copperopolis Branch Library, a check for $500.00.
The members of Copper Hills 4-H held fund raisers to raise money to help support their library.
At the Copper Town Square Chili Cook-Off they sold homemade brownies and corn bread to the 100’s of chili loving people that came to the event. Parents and children alike prepared the cornbread and formed an assembly line the morning of the chili cook-off to cut and wrap tray after tray of yummy goodies to sell.
Valerie had tears in her eyes when she thanked the children for their help, “I really appreciate all that you kids have done …you are really making a difference in the community…it means so much to not only me but to your community.” Telling the kids that the money they raised will go toward rent and book purchases, touching on the budget woes that affect every aspect of the county and the threat of  imminent cuts to the library system.
The 4-H members present at the awarding of the check participate in swine, steer, horse, mule-packing and dutch oven cooking in the Copper Hills 4-H.
