"Stay off the beach," National Weather Service forecaster Diana Henderson said at 6:15 a.m. "It's not just one wave, it's a series that could last up to 12 hours after the initial arrival. So even after 8:30 a.m., please still don't go to the beach. It will be a series of inundations."
SFPD have closed Great Highway from Point Lobos and 48th Avenue to Lake Merced. The National Park Service closed Ocean Beach, Baker Beach, China Beach and Fort Funston.
Transportation-wise, SF Appeal reports: "Muni will be stopping service on all its Ocean-Beach bound light rail lines (that's the N Judah and the L Taraval) at Sunset Blvd., with a bus shuttle in place to serve customers between the Ocean Beach area and Sunset."
BART officials may also cancel train service between West Oakland and Daly City.
