New Town Square Events Coordinator Isabel Moncada Rockin' the Town

When Isabel Moncada stepped into the event coordinator shoes for Town Square in September 2013 she was excited to help bring the community together for fun times with exciting events. She has succeeded in doing so.

With a BA in communication, experience as an executive assistant, years of volunteer work at the County Fair and her own event company, IM Events and Weddings, Isabel was more than prepared to take on the challenge of not only filling Linda Stefanick's shoes, but building on what Linda had created to make Town Square 'the' place to gather.

Isabel worked with Linda on the October 2013 Dog Day event, was 'baptized' so to speak with the sheer size and activity of the Halloween event and was on her own by the November 2013 'Taste of the Holidays' and has not stopped since.

This year Isabel has made the position her own lining up fun and exciting concerts for the September concert series, planning events and more for the community. "My hope is to bring a variety of events to Town Square, at minimum, once monthly."

Jim Anderson wowed with sounds from the King of Rock and Roll - by Kristina Zimmerman

Saturday night, 10-12-13, Town Square was full of energy thanks to Jim Anderson and the Rebels.
The Rebels were invited by Reese Entertainment to come and entertain the Copperopolis community and its surrounding areas at Town Square. With their catchy tribute to the early years of Elvis, they certainly accomplished their main goal.
When asked where they are from, Anderson and his fellow band members replied, “We are all from Modesto and Manteca.”  This band enjoys performing both Elvis tributes and sometimes even country.
Jim Anderson, the lead singer said, “Elvis died at 42 and I started at 42.” All five band members, Jim Anderson, Mick Yamo, Kevin Pallotta, Frank Mussicci, and Tom “Fingers” Farnsworth, all come together to bring back the King of Rock and Roll and to get Copperopolis up on their feet.

Journey Revisited Town Square Concert "Awesome!"

Well over 300 people came out on Saturday September 14, 2013 to the Town Square concert in the park featuring 'Journey Revisited.' Those same people were not dissapointed in the least as the band pulled out all the stops bringing the crowd as a whole on a careening trip down a phenominal memory lane.

Before the first song was over a large crowd crammed to the front of the stage screaming, dancing and above all else...singing right along with the band, word for word. Within what seemed like minutes people were up dancing to the songs of their youth. Many teens joined in the dance as they too have heard these timeless tunes.

Opening for Journey was a boy band from Modesto, 'High Voltage', a rock band of such talent and skill it was hard to believe they ranged in age from 13 to 17. Impressive skills these boys had.
Also on tap was our local up and coming guitarist/vocalist Michael Impink, who wooed the crowd with well known tunes and witty repartee.

The next concert in Town Square will be Jim Anderson and The Rebels, a Tribute to the King (Elvis), on September 21st at 7:30 pm. There is a nominal $5.00 parking fee, proceeds going to the Copper Hills 4H and Bret Harte FFA.
