Internal Medicine Specialist, Reiker Schultz, MD, Now Accepting Patients

Sonora Regional Medical Center welcomes Reiker Schultz, MD, who has begun seeing patients at Hillside Internal Medicine. Dr. Schultz comes from Cincinnati, Ohio, where he completed an internal medicine residency at The Jewish Hospital.

Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Schultz worked for several years in auto design, spending his working life at a desk with little social interaction. He decided he would rather be of service to people and medicine was a natural choice.

Dr. Schultz is a third generation physician. All three Schultzes, son, father and grandfather, graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine to become primary care physicians. Also remarkable, Dr. Schultz was celebrated as the 10,000th student to earn a medical degree from Loma Linda University, which saw its first medical graduates in 1914.

In his practice, Dr. Schultz has a particular interest in prevention and helping his patients use lifestyle methods to prevent and control chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, heart failure and obesity.

Dr. Schultz has moved to Sonora with his wife and two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar and keeping fit with a variety of activities including hiking, jogging, swimming and biking.

Dr. Schultz is accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, please call Hillside Internal Medicine at 209-536-5060.
