On Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16, 2013 the Thunder will host two home games to support the armed services. Event proceeds will benefit the Welcome Home Heroes organization.
“Over the years, Thunder fans have been extremely receptive to opportunities we have had to recognize the men and women who so bravely serve our country,” said team President Dan Chapman.
“Because of this, we feel it is definitely time to do something more substantial that will celebrate their service while at the same time raise funds for local organizations that support our military and veterans.”
In honor of our first Military Appreciation Weekend, we will be having veteran and active military dropping the puck at many of our games.
On February 15th the first 5,000 fans will receive a patriotic poster and on the 16th the first 2,000 fans (13+) will receive a red, white and blue cap.
