WInter weather advisory from the National Weather Service

415 AM PST WED NOV 7 2012

...LIGHT SNOW FOR SIERRA FOOTHILLS & MOUNTAINS THURSDAY AND
FRIDAY...

.A COLD STORM MOVING INTO NORCAL ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WILL
BRING LIGHT SNOW TO THE MOUNTAINS AND UPPER FOOTHILLS OF THE
SIERRA. SNOW LEVELS DURING THE DAY THURSDAY WILL RANGE BETWEEN
3000 AND 4000 FEET. SNOW LEVELS CONTINUE TO LOWER THURSDAY NIGHT
INTO FRIDAY MORNING DOWN TO AROUND 2500 FEET WITH SOME LOCAL
AREAS GETTING SNOW OR A RAIN/SNOW MIX DOWN TOWARDS 2000 FEET BY
EARLY FRIDAY. THERE IS NOT A LOT OF MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS
STORM. HOWEVER...THIS WILL BE THE FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON FOR
THE FOOTHILLS WHERE THEY COULD GET UP TO 3 INCHES OF
ACCUMULATION. MOST OF THE SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE NEAR AND ABOVE
5000 FEET. ESTIMATED TOTALS ARE AROUND 6 INCHES AT 5000 FEET AND
UP TO 10 INCHES NEAR THE CREST. GUSTY MOUNTAIN WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY
THE STORM AND SINCE SNOW WILL BE LIGHT...PERIODS OF REDUCED
VISIBILITIES ARE EXPECTED NEAR PASS LEVELS DURING THE STORM.
