Rumors have been spreading throughout Copperopolis over the weekend of a possible inmate escape or walk-away at the Sierra Conservation Center. This information is false.
The following statement was issued to the Copper Gazette by CDCR (PIO) Public Information Officer Dana Simmons, "I have confirmed that there has not been
an escape or a walk-away from Sierra Conservation Center or any of its camps."
