Entrepreneurial Spirit Alive and Well in Calaveras County

What do you get when you combine interior decorating skills with contracting skills with love of parenting? In Calaveras County you get the new kids indoor activity and adventure park - Barrel of Monkeez.

Owners and creators Matthew and Jennifer Iannarelli have thrown their heart, sweat and dreams into the creation of the soon-to-be-opening Barrel of Monkeez in Frogtown. Jennifer with a background in interior design and Matthew with a background in construction realized after having their first "monkey" Ayden three years ago that they knew their lives would include some sort of job that revolved around parenting. Quickly discarding daycare and preschool type ventures, the couple, whose son is now three, realized that there is little to no entertainment arenas for children in the foothills. With the seed planted and quickly taking root the couple - trying to keep the adventure in Calaveras County - began looking for facilities large enough to house their grand dream.

Just the beginning of the indoor mini-golf course!

Finally a few months ago they were able to procure a large building in Frogtown. A very large building.

The 'fun' began in earnest. Cleaning, clearing webs and debris from years gone by and beginning to create the dream that had until that point only existed on paper, the couple was in seventh heaven. Family and friends would pop by on the odd occasion to help with some added muscle work and assembly.

The Karaoke floor has been painted, the mini golf course has arrived, the laser tag black-light room with moveable walls for multiple games has been built and is in the final painting stages, and the bouncy rooms are on their way, as are a myriad of other family fun and kid friendly games, equipment and toys.
