The 19th Annual Copper Run Distributes the Proceeds

On March 10, 2011 at the CFPD Board meeting, Marilyn Richarson, founder of the Copper Run, graciously presented Don Rollings, Copperopolis Volunteer Firefighter President with a check for $1,790.00. Half of the proceeds of this years' Copper Run. The other half will be donated to Copperopolis Elementary School.

In 1993, Marilynn and her husband Ed Friel, began the Copper Run to help support the Volunteer Firefighters and Copper School. The event, though off to a rocky start, became a yearly anticipated event in Copper. Next year will be the 20th anniversary of the Copper Run, and it was announced that the name will change. In memory of Ed Friel, who passed away recently, the Copper Run will honor his name and his memory. The new name will be announced this upcoming year.

Marilyn is sporting the original 1993 Copper Run t-shirt.
