VA Clinic to Open in Modesto in February

A new state-of-the-art outpatient Veteran Clinic in Modesto will open February 8, 2013 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The clinic boasts 20 exam rooms and offers many services including x-rays, labs, physical therapy, mental health, social work services and an array of routine medical services. The clininc will also be offering video based appointments with providers at distant locations. "Telehealth” clinics are offered specifically in TeleUrology, TeleRheumatology, TeleGI, GeleMOVE/TeleNutrition, TeleSleep and TelePolytrauma.

The clinic is located at 1225 Oakdale Road, Modesto CA.

Gov Brown signs veteran health advocate legislation

On July 24. 2012 Governor Brown signed Assembly Bill 1869 which will require the Office of Patient Advocate - who represent individuals served by health care service plans regulated by the Department of Management Health Care, insureds covered by health insurers regulated by the Department of Insurance, and individuals who receive or are eligible for other health care coverage in California - to provide and assist in the provision of outreach and education about federal veterans health.

This bill will take effect January 1, 2013.
