Harvest Haunt Express Train Rides

Get in the spirit of the season by taking a family-friendly train ride aboard the popular “Harvest Haunt Express” at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown! Complete with a skeleton crew, you will enjoy a festive and scenic journey aboard a specially-decorated excursion train through the Gold Country. On Saturdays, excursion trains will be pulled by the famous Sierra No. 3 and on Sundays by a steam or vintage diesel locomotive. Plus, free pumpkins will be provided to those taking a train ride all month long, while supplies last. And, on Saturday, October 5, visitors to Railtown 1897 SHP will enjoy live music, entertainment, caboose tours, operational track cars on display, the belt drive machine shop in action in and around the Roundhouse, and more to kick-off the new fall season. Calaveras, Mariposa and Tuolumne County residents ride trains for free (proof of residence required). Arrive at 7 a.m. and watch the
