French Flat Frisbee Golf Sunday, Dec. 22, 10 a.m. French Flat Come out
for the fun of our first-ever Frisbee Golf interpretive program! Rangers
will set a course filled with clues about the natural and cultural
history of New Melones Lake. Hit the targets, gain the clues and answer
the questions to win a prize! This will be a 9-hole course set in the
rambling oak woodlands of French Flat. Participants will be walking
through tall grass, so long pants and your own Frisbee are required. We
will meet at the corner of Shell and Rawhide Roads at 10 a.m. and then
caravan down to French Flat for a great game of Frisbee Golf!

Ranger Greg has set up a Geocaching course along the Buck Brush trail. Learn tips of the trade as you come out to join the Geocaching craze. Fabulous prizes will be awarded. Participants must bring their own equipment. Easy 2-mile hike. Call for more information 209- 536-9543.

Table Mountain
Join Ranger Hilary in discovering some of the fungi around us. Learn
about their importance, identification, habitats, life cycles and
dangers. Search for fungi along this easy 1-mile trail that leads to the
base of Table Mountain. Participants will have the option of returning
on their own or participating in a strenuous climb to the top of Table
Mountain to enjoy the grand views of New Melones Lake. We will meet at
the corner of Rawhide Road and Shell Road at 10 a.m.

Ranger Led Hike, Peoria Wildlife and Tuttletown Recreation Are
Wildlife enthusiasts can meet at 10 am at the Peoria Wildlife and Tuttletown Recreation Area on April 20, 2012 to take a ranger led hike in the Peoria Wildlife Area. After the hike the tour will take a drive up to the Dam Overlook to experience a close-up view of the dam and river canyon.
Rangers will be on site from 10 am to 5 pm to answer any questions you have about New Melones Lake. The day use fee will be waived in both Tuttletown and Glory Hole Recreation Areas.
