Meet the Candidates September 28, 2014

The Murphys Community Club, in conjunction with the Murphys Business Association, is organizing a Meet the Candidates event to be held Sunday, September 28, 3 to 5 p.m. in the town’s idyllic community park.
            Invitations have been extended to sixteen men and women whose names will be on the November 4 general election ballots received by voters in the greater Murphys area.  Each candidate will be allowed to set up a table and a couple of chairs, display their signs and other printed materials, and be available to chat, one-on-one, with those in attendance.

District 3 Supervisor Forum re-cap

The Murphys business association held a candidate forum for District 3 Supervisor candidates at the Native Sons building in downtown Murphys on 4-16-14 to a standing room only crowd.
The question posed by moderator Paul Stein focused on the some of the same issues raised in the interviews conducted by the Copper Gazette, with an emphasis on local issues.

Citizens for a Better Calaveras Hold Candidates Night



The Citizens for a Better Calaveras will be holding a candidates forum on October 25, 2012.  The CBC is comprised of the following organizations, Calaveras County Fair, Calaveras County Arts Council, Calaveras Humane Society, Calaveras Visitor’s Bureau, Senior Centers of Calaveras, Friends of the Calaveras Library and Calaveras County Parks and Recreation.   The coalition is working together to enhance the future of their organizations by redefining the Transient Occupancy Tax. 

The Supervisorial candidates have been invited to participate.  The event will be held in the Board of Supervisors chambers.  The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m.  For more information on Citizens for a Better Calaveras visit www.bettercalaveras.org.

Candidate Forum


Candidate Forums

The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association is sponsoring a series of candidate forums inviting State Assembly, District Attorney and all Supervisorial Candidates.
The first event, co-sponsored by the Copperopolis Community Center, will be held in Copperopolis at the Historical Armory on Main Street on Monday, April 23, 2012, 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Moderator will be Bruce Tallackson
The next event will be in Valley Springs at the La Contenta Golf Course, on May 3, 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Moderator will be Greg Cadger.
These forums will schedule the Assembly Candidates first, and then District Attorney Candidates and finally all Supervisorial candidates.
There will be time to mix with the attendees. 
Information tables will be provided for campaign materials and light refreshments will be served.
An Additional forum is planned for the Arnold area, on May 14th, cosponsored by the Greater Arnold Business Association and will feature State Assembly and District Attorney candidates only. More info to follow.
