Tuolumne Sheriff press release re: 3 month old child pronounced dead, DA amending charges against father of child

UPDATE regarding the condition of the 3 month old child.

On 12-11-12 at 2217 hours, the 3 month old child was pronounced dead by doctors at Oakland Children’s Hospital.  An autopsy has been scheduled.
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Detectives and Coroners are working together with Alameda County Corner regarding the autopsy.
Based upon the new information the Tuolumne County District Attorney is considering amending the charges against Kevin Boehmer.
       The investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday December 9, 2012 Kevin Boehmer brought his three month old daughter into Sonora Regional Medical Center with a 'difficulty breathing' claim. After the doctors discovered multiple bruises and other injuries to the child she was air lifted to Oakland Children's Hospital. Boehmer was located and booked for child abuse. The child's mother is currently incarcerated in Washington State on child abuse charges, not known at this time if that case is related to the same child.

Kevin Michael Boehmer, 26, pleaded not guilty Wednesday, 12-12-12, during an arraignment in Tuolumne County Superior Court to a charge of assault on a child under 8 years resulting in a coma or paralysis. Tuolumne County DA stated at the time that Boehmer would be charged with a homicide related charge if the girl died.
