Tuolumne County Sheriff press release re: Shot fired during dispute



On November 4th at around 2:00 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Don Pedro Market regarding a fight that ended when one of the participants, later identified as 71 year old James Wesley Kennedy, pulled a handgun and fired a shot. No one was hit.
The dispute occurred when Kennedy confronted another man who’s son was spending time with Kennedy’s grand daughter. Kennedy objected to the relationship and a heated argument began. After an investigation, Kennedy was arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
